Architects of the Mind and Soul
"For what could equal an art which aims at directing the soul and forming the mind and character of a young child."
St. John Chrysostom
St. John Chrysostom School in Wallingford, Pennsylvania founded in 1955 under the direction of the Sisters of St. Josephs of Chestnut Hill, has maintained over the years a reputation for providing academic excellence paralleled by the opportunity for students to nurture daily their relationship with God. Indeed, instruction in religious truths and values is the foundation in which our students’ experiences achieve their coherence and deepest meaning.
St. John Chrysostom School has flourished over the years. Since the doors opened, enrollment has increased two fold, a new addition and renovated Lower Church Hall/Primary Unit have added to the vibrant atmosphere of the school. A dedicated and enthusiastic faculty and administration promote a learning environment that fosters a belief in one’s own worth and abilities.
Students enjoy a curriculum where spirituality, emotional, social, physical, and intellectual activities and programs interrelate and augment one another. Through daily lived-out Christianity, and by reaching out in service to those in need, students, teachers, and parents come to esteem the goodness in one another with a reverence based on faith and understanding. This dynamic interaction bonds the relationship of the school with the parish and civic community, forming the complete educational setting for children.
A strong community spirit, as evidenced by the continuous generous support of the pastor, parishioners, and parents, makes St. John Chrysostom School a place where we all can be proud. |
